I was doing some interesting research after reading an opinion in the newspaper about the safety of walking alone in the dark. There are many nincompoops in Utah that turn a blind eye to reality, but if you look at the stats below, you will see that Provo has over twice the rate of forcible rape as New York City, and almost as much as Los Angeles.
Couple that with the number of sexual predators that live in our fair city (73 within two miles of my home), and you have good enough reason to lock your doors.
